Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream and CC Eye cream

Bourjois can be quite a hit or miss brand for me, some of their products I love and other are just a bit blah. When I saw their new CC cream range I was unsure whether it would live up to the same standards of their 'Healthy mix' serum foundation. Que...Lisa Eldridge! Well what can I say she was my enabler, for the CC cream at least. The eye cream just seemed to fall into my basket!  These two do however work wonders together.
I have been using these on and off for a couple of weeks now and its fair to say its love. The website claims that the CC cream itself combines the colour correcting properties of a foundation with the skincare action of a cream. It also has an spf of 15 and claims to have 24 hour hydration. One thing is defiantly true of this CC cream, it evens my skin tone out beautifully. I tend to have some redness in my skin especially around my nose as well as some acne scarring and hyper pigmentation. It creates a really beautiful, natural looking base to apply my makeup too. I do still have to use a concealer with it as it is a very light base, but for those lazy days where I am running errands, it is perfect. Usually I apply a small amount of powder over the top of my more problematic areas, but it still looks natural. I was quite surprised at how well this lasts on my skin. I have worn it to work a few times, which means its typically on around 9 hours and it wears really well. When I first got this I tried lots of ways of applying it. My favourite however is with a MAC 130 as I think it gives a really lovely finish to the skin.

Did I need another under eye concealer...not really no! However this is a really light, but good covering corrector which doesn't make me feel like I've piled on lots of product to get rid of my dark circles. It is really easily blended and looks beautiful along with the CC cream. The applicator of this concealer is made of silicone and is almost bendy, which I really like because it never feels like its dragging on your under eye area. I usually apply this and then blend it out with  the Real Techniques beauty sponge. You can barely even see its there.

Have you tried these products? Which Bourjois products are your most loved? I would really love to know!

My most loved mascaras

I am a girl who goes through mascaras like most people go through shower gel. I simply cannot help myself buying a new one a month into another one and then throwing the one I was using away, whilst convincing myself it must be off by now so I really need this new one. Is this only me??!! I think I might have a problem. Whenever I see a new one in a shop, all wrapped up in its shiny new packaging, shouting "BUY ME, BUY ME...I'm all shiny and new", I can't help but do as I'm told and buy it!!! I think this is border line crazy right?!
Anyway back to the point, no matter how often I buy a new one,  I always end up going back to my trusty most loved 2 (obviously new ones, not the yucky old ones that have been stuck in the bottom of my makeup draw for a long time, loosing their nice popping sound). So what are my favourite 2? Well the first one is the Bourjois Volumizer and the other one is the Avon Super Curlacious mascara. I LOVE both of these and go back to them time and time again!
I swear it is purely a coincidence that these both have pink labels!!

Boujois Volumizer
I love that fact that this mascara has 2 settings on it. Number 1 'prepares your lashes for 3D volumizing' (apparently). I just like this one because there are no clumps and their is minimal product on the wand, which I love. Number 2 creates volumized lashes and the wand has a lot more product on it, perfect for nights out or special occasions.  When I first tried this I couldn't figure out how it worked, but finally I sussed it!! When you use number one, the wand is pulled up out through the tubing of number 2, which in turn removes any clumps and excess mascara! GENIUS...ok this might be really simple, but it totally took me ages to figure out!!! Any way basically I love this and will continue to re- purchase time and time again! Its on the slightly more expensive side at around £10.99, although it is currently on offer in Boots for £5.99....BARGAIN alert!
Setting number 2

Avon Super Curlacious mascara
This mascara is a beautiful every day one and one that I adore. I find it to be clump free, light weight and give you really natural lashes! The wand is curved, which helps to create that curled effect and leave your lashes looking super pretty. This mascara is very affordable  at £8.50 and is quite often on special offer.  I have tried quite a few Avon mascaras and this is most defiantly my favourite. Its simple, beautiful and doesn't smudge.

So what is your most loved mascara?!!! I would really love some good recommendations!

I have been loving so many products this month and have been having so much fun using them. Alot of these I have had a long time and have not brought all of these this month (that would be crazy expensive)!! I love rediscovering products and find nothing more satisfying than using something up (is that slightly odd?)! So let me do a quick run down!
Eyeshadows:
Shroom       Patina

I have been wearing these eyeshadows EVERY day (slightly obsessive I know)! They are both beautiful day colours that i find really flattering on my skin tone. I tend to use shroom as a base all over and Patina through the crease and in the outside corner.

Fling Brow Pencil and Topshop Magic Liner:
I would be lost without my Fling brow pencil. it is quite simply my brow colour in a pencil and I love it. Its really easy to work with and is fool proof (in other words made for me and my clumsiness) and leaves your brows looking natural but neat.
As for the Topshop Magic Liner, this is so easy to use and is again a fool proof product. This makes my morning makeup so quick and with as little fuss as possible (I am always in a rush to get to work and cant be bothered to faff about). This stays really well and does not budge!!

M.A.C Sincere blush and the Boujois Foundation and concealer:
I have done reviews of both these products already so please check further down my blog. Basically I love these products!!

Jemma Kidd Dewey Glow in Iced Gold:
This product is brilliant and is so flattering. It really sits beautifully on the skin and looks very natural. The shimmer in it is minimal and the colour is really good for paler skin. As you can see from the picture below, I have had this for a while and have just hit pan : (!!
If you have darker skin you could try this product in the shade Rose Gold as I have heard that shade is super for darker skin tones.

M.A.C Lipstick in 'Shy Girl':
This is such a beautiful color!! I had never owned a peachy lipstick (I know, I know...I think I have had my head in lala land for far to long)! Anyway they just never appealed to me, despite having heard lots about this particular one from M.A.C. I went and saw my friend and she tried this lipstick on me and it was love at first sight. I really didn't think it would suit me, but it looks so pretty on!!!! LOVE IT!!!!! I did get this through the back to M.A.C scheme as well which makes it even better in my eyes (everyone loves a freebie)!

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque and the Hydrating Eye cream:

My under eyes have been sooooooooooooo dry recently (probably due to my dry skin anyway and the yucky english weather). I find Bobbi Brown products wonderful and I have been eager to get their corrector for as long as I can remember! It just so happened when I went to get it my eye cream had also run out. The lady tried them both on me and the results are great!!! My under eyes are so much more hydrated and appear so much lighter and lovely!! Luckily for me as well they had 10% off woohoooooo!!!
Corrector in Light Bisque     Hydrating Eye Cream
Argan Magic: Intensive Hair Oil:
I have had major problems with my hair for the last year or so after a really silly hairdresser did something naughty to it and I ended up with straw for hair!! However it is all back to normal now and is actually in better condition than it was before (don't know why I felt I needed to explain this haha)! Anyway I had been thinking about purchasing the Moroccan Oil but really couldn't justify the £30 to myself (its seems sooooo expensive for some oil, or is that just me?)! Anyway I was in TK Maxx and I saw this in the hair section for £6.00...bargain!! So I thought I would give it a whirl! This has made my hair so soft and has reduced the frizziness brilliantly!! I am in love with it and will repurchase for sure!!!

The Sanctuary Hot Cloth Cleanser and 5 Minute Detox Facial Mask
Both of these products seem really good. I have been using them for about 2 weeks now (although I only use the mask about twice a week) and I have had no bad reactions or anything like that! The Hot Cloth Cleanser really takes my makeup off and leaves my skin feeling really clean, which I love!! I really feel like it is doing my skin some good!
As for the face mask, this seems to clean my skin out well and I have noticed my skin seems alot brighter and healthier since I have been using it!!

So these are my March favorites! I hope you have enjoyed reading this. Let me know what you think of any of the products if you have used them!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer

Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in shade 51 and Healthy Mix concealer in shade 51

So I know I am rather late to join this little bandwagon but I wanted to try it out properly before writing a review. I have been using this foundation for about 3 months now and I totally LOVE it!!!! Normally I stay well away from drugstore foundations as I have had bad experiences in the past with colourings (I usually end up looking like an Oompa loompa:  Not a good look) and was a bit sceptical about trying this! However having seen everyone rave about it and done my research, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it, and I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (does this show you how glad I am??) glad that I did! The consistency of this is so light and I can barely feel that I am wearing it. I loved it so much that I decided to purchase the concealer to match and together they are amazing!!

Concealer     Foundation

I have both of these in shade 51 and they seem to match my skin tone brilliantly. I would say this shade has more yellow undertones than pink, which suits me perfectly (as I have previously mentioned I am an NC15 in M.A.C). I find these blend really, really well and do not go at all cakey. I have had major problems with my skin recently and have begin seeing a dermatologist for my acne. My skin is naturally dry and I find it hard to find foundations that don't accentuate the dry patches. This foundation provides good, buildable coverage whilst still being moisturising. The products I have been using for my acne are drying my skin out even more and I have found if I use a concealer it tends to go cakey within 10mins of applying it. This is the only concealer I have found that doesn't do this and doesn't cling to the dry patches...literally amazing!!! Also it hasn't broken me out, or made my acne worse!!
This foundation claims to last for 16hours, but to be honest I couldn't tell you if this is true (I mean really, how many people are likely to have this on for 16 hours)!! I however usually apply it at about 7 in the morning, before work and it is still there when I get home at half 5, which is brilliant!!! The only thing that could put people off is the scent, as it has quite a strong fruity smell to it. Usually I worry about putting highly scented things on my face, but the smell of this is divine and doesn't seem to create a bad reaction on my face. WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
The foundation retails for £ 10.99 in the UK (so a higher end drugstore brand) and the concealer costs £7.49. I think these are good value for money and well worth the cost. To put it in perspective you wouldn't even be able to buy a foundation is M.A.C for the price of both these items!
So all in all, I shall defiantly be re-purchasing both of these!!! Well done Bourjois!!
