My most loved mascaras

I am a girl who goes through mascaras like most people go through shower gel. I simply cannot help myself buying a new one a month into another one and then throwing the one I was using away, whilst convincing myself it must be off by now so I really need this new one. Is this only me??!! I think I might have a problem. Whenever I see a new one in a shop, all wrapped up in its shiny new packaging, shouting "BUY ME, BUY ME...I'm all shiny and new", I can't help but do as I'm told and buy it!!! I think this is border line crazy right?!
Anyway back to the point, no matter how often I buy a new one,  I always end up going back to my trusty most loved 2 (obviously new ones, not the yucky old ones that have been stuck in the bottom of my makeup draw for a long time, loosing their nice popping sound). So what are my favourite 2? Well the first one is the Bourjois Volumizer and the other one is the Avon Super Curlacious mascara. I LOVE both of these and go back to them time and time again!
I swear it is purely a coincidence that these both have pink labels!!

Boujois Volumizer
I love that fact that this mascara has 2 settings on it. Number 1 'prepares your lashes for 3D volumizing' (apparently). I just like this one because there are no clumps and their is minimal product on the wand, which I love. Number 2 creates volumized lashes and the wand has a lot more product on it, perfect for nights out or special occasions.  When I first tried this I couldn't figure out how it worked, but finally I sussed it!! When you use number one, the wand is pulled up out through the tubing of number 2, which in turn removes any clumps and excess mascara! GENIUS...ok this might be really simple, but it totally took me ages to figure out!!! Any way basically I love this and will continue to re- purchase time and time again! Its on the slightly more expensive side at around £10.99, although it is currently on offer in Boots for £5.99....BARGAIN alert!
Setting number 2

Avon Super Curlacious mascara
This mascara is a beautiful every day one and one that I adore. I find it to be clump free, light weight and give you really natural lashes! The wand is curved, which helps to create that curled effect and leave your lashes looking super pretty. This mascara is very affordable  at £8.50 and is quite often on special offer.  I have tried quite a few Avon mascaras and this is most defiantly my favourite. Its simple, beautiful and doesn't smudge.

So what is your most loved mascara?!!! I would really love some good recommendations!

Avon Super Shock Eye Shadow Pencil duo

I like to consider myself a fairly low maintenance sort of a girl (to a certain extent), especially when it comes to getting ready to go work. Often I don't have much time to do my hair and makeup before running out the door (this can sometimes result in me looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards, always a good look)! The little time I do have, I like to use to make sure that any makeup I do manage to get on my face (I'm not usually awake enough to do it properly at 6.30am), stays in place as long as possible. So whilst indulging in my favourite past time, looking through the Avon catalogue, I came across these cute dual ended eye shadow pencils.
Top to bottom: chocolate melt and cream dream,  princess pink and royal velvet, green dream and hint of mint.

I have collected these over the last few months, after initially falling in love with the first one I got (chocolate melt and cream dream) and am hoping to get the last one in the collection very soon (a silvery one called moonshine and starry night). These pencils are so creamy, highly pigmented and soft, which makes them really easy to blend on the lids. I would advise using a really good primer underneath (I use Urban Decay primer Potion), as this product does tend to move slightly and will occasionally crease (but only slightly). Each pencil has a lighter and darker shade, which make them brilliant for smokey eyes. These work really well on their own or as a base for eyeshadow. The great thing about these is that by using them as a base you really intensify the colour of the eyeshadow you use over the top. For example I have used the green dream shade underneath M.A.Cs club eyeshadow, which creates a super dark evening look. As you can see the packaging of these pencils is very sleek and looks a lot more expensive than they really are. My only niggle with the packaging is the lids as they have a tendency to pop off occasionally ( I actually ended up splitting one of the lids by trying to push it on so that it didn't pop off...whoops).

This product is marketed as being waterproof and the Super Shock range are renowned for being long wearing. These defiantly last a long time, I have applied this first thing in the morning and they are still there when I get home at half 4 (BRILLIANT). The colour may is less intense after this period of time but I think you will always get that no matter how long lasting something is!
The best selling point for this product in my eyes is the price point. These usually retail at £7.00 but are pretty much always on offer in the Avon catalogue and I have brought mine for anything between £3-4.50, which is brilliant!!! These are also available on line to buy at www.avon.uk.com but are currently not on sale. The green one (which is not a Super Shock one, but is exactly the same....I don't understand this) is currently on sale for £3.00 (BARGAIN), and the others are £7.00.
Top to bottom: chocolate melt and cream dream, princess pink and royal velvet,  green dream and hint of mint.

I have grown to LOVE Avon products, and would happily try their stuff out all day. I think recently they have begun to bring out some brilliant stuff and they are beginning to get a really good reputation (very different to how it was a few years ago when people associated Avon with grannies and rollers). I would love to see them bring out some makeup for acne prone skin, such as foundations and concealers. I am also really eager to try their eye shadow palettes, but I have so many from other brands, I'm not sure I can justify the expense. If you have tried any let me know what they are like?!
So have you tried these, what do you think of Avon products?! I would love to know

Top 5 everyday Lipsticks!

Sorry for lack of posts this weekend, I have been a very busy little bee. I thought about this post long and hard and decided I really wanted to do my top 5 everyday lipsticks. This was an easy one for me as I simply went in my handbag and pulled out the 5 lipsticks that are always in there and that I always go  between.
L to R: Rimmel Kate Moss collection in 03, M.A.C Hue, Avon Pout, M.A.C Shy Girl, Revlon Gentlemen Prefer Pink 450.

Ok so they are all pretty much nude colours (except the Revlon one), but they are all very different.

Rimmel 03:
I am not usually a fan of Rimmel products as I find they tend to make my eyes in particular really itch, so I was slightly dubious about trying their lip products. However I swatched this in the shop and loved it. I find this lipstick is my "my lips but better" lipstick. Its a soft brown based nude and is very creamy and highly pigmented. This can go on quite thick if your not careful so I tend to pat it on my lips and I find this works brilliantly. This retails at £5.49

M.A.C Hue (Glaze):
I am not going to dwell on this one for too long as everyone goes on about it. I think the picture above shows how much I love this product, as there is hardly any left (insert your saddest face here). This is a pink based nude and is one of M.A.Cs Glaze finish lipsticks. It offers a very sheer but buildable colour on the lips and looks simply gorgeous!!! This retails at £13.50.

Avon Pout:
This particular one is from the Limited edition 'Little Red Dress' collection (only the packaging is limited edition) but the colour is available in their permanent collection too. This lipstick really reminds me of Hue but has a bit more brown to it. It goes onto the lips beautifully and doesn't tend to sit in the cracks of the lips (a massive bonus). I really enjoy wearing this lipstick as it gives a tiny bit of colour without making me look very made up. This retails at £7.00.

M.A.C Shy Girl (Cremesheen):
Currently my favourite lipstick, this provides a beautiful glossy, sheer but strong colour. It is a peachy nude and is the newest one to my collection. I have worn this pretty much every day since getting it through the 'back to M.A.C.' scheme and simply cannot get enough of it!!! I am really enjoying wearing peach and coral colours throughout my makeup as a whole at the moment and this really compliments everything. This retails at £13.50

Revlon 'Gentlemen Prefer Pink':
This was my first Revlon lipstick and I think it is stunning!! Its a beautiful bright pink that can be worn very sheer for daytime or built up for a more dramatic evening look. This lipstick is really creamy and easy to apply and best of all it lasts on my lips really well!! YAY! This retails at £7.99

L to R: Rimmel 03, M.A.C Hue, Avon Pout, M.A.C Shy Girl., Revlon Gentlemen Prefer Pink.

I simply cannot make my mind up, which one of these is my most fave, I love them all!!!! What are your Top 5 everyday lipsticks?!

Top 5 (and a half) nail polishes

Bonjour!!!

Soooooo I woke up today in a bit of a nail mood, I fancied a change (yet again) and couldn't decide which one to wear! Then I became inspired and decided to do my top 5 nails varnishes, which then turned into 5 and a half (not to sure if this works, but it sounds ok in my head)! Soooo anywho, lets gets straight into the little pots of pretty coloured paint!!
I have a variety of colours that I have chosen, from a variety of different brands (both drugstore and higher end).
From L to R: Models Own 'Nude Beige',  Avon 'Fuchsia Fun' and Barry M 'Raspberry

From L to R: Barry M 'Peach Melba', Avon 'Aqua Fantasy' and OPI''Play the Peonies'

So above you can see the pretty paints. I am quite surprised at myself to be honest, I used to be a pinks and red girl but recently I have been slightly more experimental (should I be concerned)?! I will start with the top 3!!

L to R: Models Own 'Nude Beige', Avon ' Fuschia Fun' and Barry M 'Raspberry'

Now aside from the badly painted nails above these are my most favourite colours all year round!!  They go with pretty much any outfit and make me feel smiley and happy (which is never a bad thing)!! All 3 polishes are quite different though:

Models Own 'Nude Beige': This polish is really easy to work with, which is brilliant when you are as clumsy and impatient as I am!!! It is quite a thick consistency, so just be careful not to have too much on your brush. I find the more coats I do, the darker the polish gets, which means you can adapt it, which I think is great! The only slight downside (although it doesn't bother me) is the smell, is it me (and my very sensitive nose), or does this have an odd smell to it?! Having said that, I don't care and will repurchase this again and again! It is the only Models Own polish I own and I cannot wait to go and get some more! This polish retails at £5.00 (BARGAIN)!

Avon 'Fuschia Fun': This polish really surprised me!! I will be honest, I initially brought it because it was on offer in my Avon catalogue (yes I am that cool, but its got some brilliant stuff in it)!! I was on the market for a new pink (as if I don't have enough already) and the glitter in this really drew me to it! It is a really pretty bright pink and has really tiny particles of glitter in it, which looks really pretty in the light! It is quite a watery consistency and needs a few coats (this one had 3 coats), but its a bargain and last really well! I brought this for £3 when it was on offer in the catalogue!!

Barry M 'Raspberry': This is my HG nail polish and I am already on my 2nd bottle!! I literally adore this colour! It looks lovely in all seasons and can be adapted so well (I have worn it with so many different shades of glitter on). It goes on really easily and is a brilliant consistency. You only need about 2 coats to get it looking gorgeous! As with any red colour, I would advise using a base coat, otherwise it will stain slightly. According to the Superdrug website this retails at £2.99, although I really thought I paid more than that!

L to R: Barry M 'Peach Melba', Avon 'Aqua Fantasy' and OPI (mini) 'Play the Peonies'.

Please don't judge the awfully painted nails in the picture above (this was painted using my left hand and we all know how hard that is when you are right handed)!

Barry M 'Peach Melba': This is such a pretty colour, and as one I only tend to wear in the spring this drugstore one does me just fine! This is quite a different consistency to the other Barry M one already mentioned and it requires a little more concentration to apply. You need about 3 coats of this colour, otherwise it can look very patchy. However that being said I think it is such a pretty colour it is well worth the time!! This retails at £2.99

Avon 'Aqua Fantasy': I'm going to be honest, this is not a colour I would usually go for, but I saw it on Sam from Pixiwoo and fell in love with it! It is such a pretty colour and when I fancy something different this is usually the one I go for. The picture above doesn't do it justice as it actually looks a lot paler on the nails than it does in this picture (think I may need a new camera)! Again it is quite tricky to work with and needs a few coats, but once you get the hang of it, its fine!! I brought this for £3, but it depends if you buy on line or in the catalogue and what offers they have on.

OPI 'Play the Peonies': Now this is my half nail polish because I got it in a mini set (Nice Stems) when it was on buyapower.com. This is such a cute nail polish and I love it. I wore it last week and had so many compliments on how pretty it looked!! This requires a few coats (I gave this one 3), but it looks beautiful afterwards!! I have no idea if you can buy this outside of the gift set or full size (let me know if you have any idea), I have looked on line but got rather confused (its been a long day)!

Anyway those are my 5 and a half top nail polishes. What do you think?!! If you were wondering I use the OPI Nail Envy as my base and top coat and I adore it!!
So what nail polishes do you recommend? What are your favourites, let me know!!!
