My new obsession......Essie and Revlon!!!! (I feel this may be a downward slope)

Just a quick post to let you know how stupidly obsessed I have become over nail polishes and in particular Essie and Revlon. I never used to be that bothered about nail polishes, in fact up until about a year ago I had 4 or 5 that I used and that was it. However once my Blogging and You Tube obsession began my eyes were opened to how versatile and pretty nail polishes could be...thats when it began!
I first went down the Revlon route as I had heard so many amazing things about their nail polishes and had never even considered them before. These polishes are affordable and come in a wide variety of colours. So far I have picked up only a few but I LOVE the ones I have. Boots have also begun to have dedicated Revlon nail stands, which is VERY exciting. In fact I tweeted a pic of one a few days ago, so go check out my twitter page @beautyandpearls.

When I heard that Essie were coming to Boots in the UK, I was sooo excited!! I had been wanting to try them for so long, having heard so much about them, but I couldn't seem to find them anywhere locally that stocked them. It took me a while to find a Boots that stocked them and I ended up getting them in Coventry about a month ago. Since then my local Boots have started stocking them and I have become obsessed!!

I cannot wait to get more Revlon and Essie polishes soon. I really want to try Sand Tropez and Peach Daiquiri from Essie. What are your recommendations, I would love to know?!

Collective Haul (with a silly amount of nail polishes)

I have been a very naughty lady recently and have indulged a little too much in the hobby otherwise known as shopping!! Whoops.
I go through phases with my shopping habits, some months I will unintentionally buy lots of skin care, other months it will be eye shadows, this month it was nail polishes!!!
I never used to be a massive nail polish lover, I had a few that I always used, but never really bothered to explore new colours or brands. However in the last year I have become addicted to them and have gone from having 4 or 5 to having a silly amount, which I cannot even bring myself to count!!! So of course it made so much sense to buy more this month (Urrrmmm really)????? If you would like to see more (and other non nail polish items from Topshop, Body Shop, Caudalie, Bourjois and Dainty Doll) please check out my new YT video!! Don't forget to become a member on here, subscribe to my YT (if you like what you see) and follow me on twitter!! I hope you enjoy it!!
I would love to know your nail polish recommendations. Please leave a comment telling me your must have nail polish colour below or on the video!

Top 5 everyday Lipsticks!

Sorry for lack of posts this weekend, I have been a very busy little bee. I thought about this post long and hard and decided I really wanted to do my top 5 everyday lipsticks. This was an easy one for me as I simply went in my handbag and pulled out the 5 lipsticks that are always in there and that I always go  between.
L to R: Rimmel Kate Moss collection in 03, M.A.C Hue, Avon Pout, M.A.C Shy Girl, Revlon Gentlemen Prefer Pink 450.

Ok so they are all pretty much nude colours (except the Revlon one), but they are all very different.

Rimmel 03:
I am not usually a fan of Rimmel products as I find they tend to make my eyes in particular really itch, so I was slightly dubious about trying their lip products. However I swatched this in the shop and loved it. I find this lipstick is my "my lips but better" lipstick. Its a soft brown based nude and is very creamy and highly pigmented. This can go on quite thick if your not careful so I tend to pat it on my lips and I find this works brilliantly. This retails at £5.49

M.A.C Hue (Glaze):
I am not going to dwell on this one for too long as everyone goes on about it. I think the picture above shows how much I love this product, as there is hardly any left (insert your saddest face here). This is a pink based nude and is one of M.A.Cs Glaze finish lipsticks. It offers a very sheer but buildable colour on the lips and looks simply gorgeous!!! This retails at £13.50.

Avon Pout:
This particular one is from the Limited edition 'Little Red Dress' collection (only the packaging is limited edition) but the colour is available in their permanent collection too. This lipstick really reminds me of Hue but has a bit more brown to it. It goes onto the lips beautifully and doesn't tend to sit in the cracks of the lips (a massive bonus). I really enjoy wearing this lipstick as it gives a tiny bit of colour without making me look very made up. This retails at £7.00.

M.A.C Shy Girl (Cremesheen):
Currently my favourite lipstick, this provides a beautiful glossy, sheer but strong colour. It is a peachy nude and is the newest one to my collection. I have worn this pretty much every day since getting it through the 'back to M.A.C.' scheme and simply cannot get enough of it!!! I am really enjoying wearing peach and coral colours throughout my makeup as a whole at the moment and this really compliments everything. This retails at £13.50

Revlon 'Gentlemen Prefer Pink':
This was my first Revlon lipstick and I think it is stunning!! Its a beautiful bright pink that can be worn very sheer for daytime or built up for a more dramatic evening look. This lipstick is really creamy and easy to apply and best of all it lasts on my lips really well!! YAY! This retails at £7.99

L to R: Rimmel 03, M.A.C Hue, Avon Pout, M.A.C Shy Girl., Revlon Gentlemen Prefer Pink.

I simply cannot make my mind up, which one of these is my most fave, I love them all!!!! What are your Top 5 everyday lipsticks?!

Revlon Lip Butters have finally hit the UK!!

So after all the hype and excitement surrounding these products, they finally arrived in the UK!! I was so excited to get my hands on these products, having read so many reviews and watched so many people on You Tube rave about these, I literally ran to Boots to get my hands on them. On first impression they all looked beautiful, the packaging is very sleek and lovely and made me want to eat them (bit odd I know)! The wands themselves are silver and look quite expensive when you use them (which I love). However when I swatched them in the shop, I was slightly disappointed, some of them were so sheer they almost seemed pointless and some of the other colours would have just looked silly on me. Very sad face
: (!!!! However despite this I found two shades that I really, really liked 'Creme Brulee' and 'Peach Parfait'. These colours are very pretty, although I must admit 'Creme Brulee' is with out a doubt my favourite, I wear it constantly!
Peach Parfait                         Creme Brulee

As you can see the packaging of both of these are really similar, however when you look at the actual lipstick you notice that Creme Brulee is really brown (nude) and Peach Parfait is quite pinkish. I am slightly confused by Peach Parfait, as the name suggests it would be a peachy colour, however I personally cannot see any peach tones to this lipstick. Maybe its just me being silly, but I really don't see it?!! To me the colour appears more pink/ brown than peach. it is still a really pretty colour and would be especially pretty in the autumn months. Creme Brulee on the other hand is a brown/ orange colour and is so pretty and nude. It is quite sheer and almost slightly shimmery on the lips. When I wear it I feel like it looks really effortless and pretty, I have had several comments on it (wooohoooooo, I love it when that happens, I get rather excited)!
Peach Parfait          Creme Brulee

Do I think these are worth the money?? Tricky question, it purely depends what you want  from your lipstick/ lip butter. If you want something moisturising then these are brilliant, but if you want something with brilliant pigmentation I'm not so sure they are for you. In the UK these retail at £7.99, which I think for what you get is quite pricey and I definitely wouldn't purchase any more. However I find it really handy to have a light, moisturising lip stick/ lip butter in my purse for day to day easy wear.
So all in all a mixed review, not sure about them as a range but LOVE 'Creme Brulee' and would highly recommend it!
